Halloween Cheese #5 (Killer Klowns from Outer Space 1988)
The #5 cheesy movie to watch this Halloween is: Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Did you know that "In space no one can eat ice cream"? Well that's just a little something you'll learn from this educational movie. This was a low budget film about aliens coming to earth to capture and harvest humans, with the twist being that they looked and acted like klowns. There wasn't a whole lot of story to this movie, but it is highly enjoyable just be warned if you are afraid of klowns or you are lactose intolerant. Because this movie is full of klowns and cheese.
Carnival is coming to town, only this time they're coming from outer space.
Halloween Horror #5 (Nightmare On Elmstreet 1984)
The #5 Horror movie to watch this Halloween is The Nightmare on Elm Street
Here is a movie that we give even the most jaded person nightmares for years to come. And the great thing about having nightmares is that is his way of murdering you. This is diffidently a must watch movie not only for Halloween but anytime of year. It is a trill ride from the opening scene all the way to the credits. And speaking of credits, this was the introduction of Johnny Depp nineteen years before taking on the role of Capitan Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. As for the scare factor of this film, my girlfriend still has to cover her eyes throughout this movie. So if you're looking for something to give you some nightmares this is by far the best.
Enjoy. Sleep well tonight
Classic Horror #5 (The Wolf Man 1941)
The #5 Classic Horror movie to watch this Halloween is Wolf Man (1941)
Who doesn't just love The Wolf Man? He was always my favorite character from the monster movies. And who better to bring that character to life other then Lon Chaney Jr. The master of scary movies. But we also can't forget about the great job that Bela Lugosi did playing the part of Bela. It was such an emotional roller coaster of a movie, first you have Larry Talbot coming back to wales and he meets a beautiful woman that he is quick to fall in love with. Then shortly after he visits with Bela, things start taking a turn for the worse for Mr. Talbot, as his destiny is changed for ever. Pick up this movie and see what it was that ruin Mr. Talbot's life.
Enjoy this trailer that was created by a fan of The Wolf Man.
Top 5 Halloween Movie List
Some of you might have noticed that I have only did reviews of scary/horror movies lately. Now that Halloween is just a 5 days away I thought it was time for a countdown list of the top 5 movies to watch during the week of Halloween. This is actually going to be three different list. The 1st one being Classic Horror, the 2nd is just Horror, and the 3rd is Cheesy Horror (the so bad they're good movies).

Friday The 13th Part Two (not as many machetes as the first one)

Another review from our favorite guest reviewer James the Worthy Critic (aka John Stamos).
Friday the 13th 2
Friday 2 was Paramount's big follow up to their sleeper hit of the same name the year before. After the success of Friday 1, Paramount realized they had a cash cow on their hands and quickly gave the green light to director Steve Miner to make a sequel. This film takes place 5 years after the tragic events of the first. Crystal Lake is open again (albeit a few miles away from the crime scene of "Camp Blood") for business. We meet several new, pretty young people who are ripe for the slaying and represent every cliché thinkable. But god you have to love these films! They're so bad that they're good. Watching a Jason movie is like watching a car wreck. You just can't seem to look away.
Curiously, Jason appears in this movie wearing a burlap sack rather than the hockey mask we have come to love over the years. He doesn't get that until the third installment. I think the burlap sack sort of adds a hokeyness to this film; some much needed levity. There are some brutal kills in this outing, particularly the one involving the poor kid in the wheelchair (OUCH!). Aestically, the movie looks good and the new DVD does a wonderful job in restoring quality. I remember having this movie on VHS and it literally looked like it was filmed from a personal camcorder. I wish they had not killed off the character of "Crazy Ralph". I really enjoyed watching him warn the characters about going to Crystal Lake. All his death did was add another body to Jason's overall tab. One burning question I have is when the police officer goes into the woods to pursue Jason. He leaves his car parked right in the middle of the road. Wouldn't the police have organized some sort of search mission for him? The car was there for several hours at least! Maybe Jason got them, too.
The acting in this movie is definitely a notch lower than in the first one. The only person who did a good job was the guy who played Jason. Perhaps it was because his face wasn't shown :). I'm giving this movie a 5/10. Average installment in the series, but it is brutal, nostalgic and important in the franchise because it marks the debut of Mr. Voorhees.

Murderer (4 out of 5 blades of Bluegrass)
Murderer is a local horror movie here in Lexington Ky that was passed on to me from a friend that knows how much I enjoy these types of movies (check out his blog here http://thisisthecoolestblogevar.blogspot.com/ ) This movie is about a Serial killer on death roll. His main passion is murdering bad guys, while being locked up in death roll he decides he can't go without murdering someone so decides to commit suicide but something keeps going wrong. He keeps seeing this pig faced looking guard right before passing out, the next day he then wakes up to find that someone has died. After a couple days he notices that its him that's killing them. This is one weird movie, but that's something that I really like. So if you can get your hands on this movie try it out. Just keep in mind that this movie was shot in six weeks, and on a low budget. I would love to post a trailer to this movie, but I have yet to find one streaming online. If I do run across one I will update this post with it.

Friday the 13th (7/10 machete)
Below is a movie review of Friday the 13th
(the first one) from a friend of mine James the Worthy Critic (aka John Stamos).
What can possibly be written about a movie that is 28 years old and helped to spawn an entire genre? It was 1980's film "Friday the 13th" that ushered in a new age of horror. Slasher films were nothing new, with John Carpenter's Halloween being released two years earlier, but Friday the 13th set the tone for violence and opened the door for several copycat films.
The film begins in 1958 where two Crystal Lake camp counselors were ruthlessly slaughtered while making love inside a barn. These grizzly murders led to the camp being closed down for over twenty years and caused the community to assign the moniker of "Camp Blood" to the area. Now, someone has decided to re-open the campground and soon the memories twenty years removed become a harsh reality for the new camp counselors. One by one, these youngsters get murdered in extremely graphic fashion and it's up to the sole survivor to fend for herself when the killer is finally revealed. SFX master Tom Savini provided the gore effects and Sean Cunningham did a good job directing the film. In my opinion, the gritty look of the film made it look almost documentary style and it really added a lot to the movie. Another thing that makes this movie so good is the pacing. Unlike most of the sequels, the killer in this film stalks the victims and watches them long before disposing of them. Let's not forget the music and the "ki-ki-ki-ki-ma-ma-ma-ma".
The only negative I can draw from this movie is the acting. Of course, with the small budget it had they couldn't exactly hire the upper echelon of Hollywood talent. Then again, none of them would have liked the script. Also, there was not a lot of character development. In a movie like this, people just go to see kids being murdered with any kind of garden tool/weapon available. I always wanted to see Jason kill somebody with a squeegee (Heck, he used a party favor in Part 6). I'll give this movie a 7/10. Definitely worth owning on DVD.

Iron Man (375 stars of awesomeness)
I figured since it just came out of DVD I would review Iron Man (Single-Disc Edition)
. If you haven't seen this movie yet please go buy it now. Do not rent this movie it will be a waste of money since your going to want to buy it anyway :). I was already a huge fan of the comic book so I went into this movie already expecting certain things to take place and I was ready to rip it apart. And from the first five minutes I was already reeled in. Even though there was some changes from the comics. Such as in the comics Tony Starks was captured in Vietnam, but in the movie he was somewhere in the Middle East (can't remember for sure if they told which country it was). This was a welcome change, well at least for me it was, since the troubles in Vietnam aren't as well known right now. And I'm sure theres lots of other small differences between the comics and the movie, but thats one of the great thing about comic book stories, your always free to rewrite them to make them more releivent for the time. And what about Robert Downey Jr. in this one, wow what a performance. I have to say this is the best he's ever been, and thats pretty good. So the bottom line is WATCH THIS MOVIE or Tony Starks will come to your house and slap you in the face.
ps. I hope to pick up the Iron Man (Two-Disc Special Collectors' Edition)
soon with all the bonus features, if I do I will update this post to let you know if its worth the extra $5

Harold (5*'s ninja style) 2008
Now lets talk about the movie Harold
which I gave a rate of 5 stars ninja style (my ninja style rating is because I didn't really expect to like it that much). Harold is a teen flick about a kid that just looks and sometimes acts like a senior citizen. This movie has a lot of your typical fish out of water teen movie moments. But I really feel like this was an original idea. Cuba Gooding Jr. delivers a strong performance in this flick along with the lead Spencer Breslin. If any of my readers here have teenage kids this would be a good movie for them, but it does have some crude and sexual conduct, along with some teenage drinking. But if they're over 13 they have seen and heard this already. So please add this to your netflix queue or pick up a copy from amazon
, if you want to see a semi original movie (kind of rare these days).

College (2008) -3 stars (spoiler alert)
I put a spoiler alert on this because I talk about the end of the movie, but really its so predictable and typical, that if you don't figure out what is going to happen with-in the first five to ten minutes your probably not smart enough to be able to read. So read on if you don't mind know a little about the movie.
Let's start this blog off with a really bad movie :). "College" which was released in 2008. I give this movie a negative three stars (would have been worst but didn't expect much from it). It's a comedy that is desperately trying to pull in the "Superbad" crowd. Which I also wasn't a fan off, but this movie makes Superbad look like Cool Hand Luke (one of my favorite movies of all time, and no I'm not saying superbad should even be considered to be in the same category as Cool Hand Luke, just making a point). The plot is your typical group of kids that are not part of the in crowd, they go to visit a college, get treated badly. And end up with some revenge and the girls at the end. Like most movies I'm not sad or angry over the time I spent watching this movie because it made me appreciate almost all other movies just a little more. So please skip this movie if you are looking for something entertaining. But if you want to just waste some time and see how bad it can get, this would be a great one for you.

my movie review blogs
What's up people of the interweb? I've created a new blog to review movies and let people know how I feel about them. I'm not a professional nor claim to be, which I'm sure through out reading my reviews this will become really apparent to you. I'm just a huge fan of movies and have recently become addicted to blogging. So why not put the two together. I will be rating movies in the title of the blog, I will probably just make up numbers and sometimes even words for the rates as I go since I'm not to big on rules and restrictions. I plan to do at least one review a week, but hope to do more when possible so please keep checking back if your interested in my reviews.
Thanks.
P.S. from time to time I will have friends that might be submitting reviews of their own to me, I will be uploading those also and giving them credit.
